Purity and Harmony in One Place
The port facing the Llao Llao Hotel is called Puerto Pañuelo (the Spanish for handkerchief) and was built in 1965. Legend says the port's name takes after the handkerchiefs waved to welcome and say goodbye to travelers in the 20th century.
In older times, the land where Puerto Pañuelo sits was a small island. In 1939, the Llao Llao Hotel, made entirely out of wood, caught on fire. The remains left from rebuilding it - a process that took one year - were used to join the island to the continent.
The harmonic design of the Llao Llao roof with the shape of Mount López can be appreciated from the port.
Several lake tours depart from Puerto Pañuelo to Puerto Blest, and also to Victoria Island and the Myrtle Woods. These tours will light up all of your senses.
